At XPashmina, our vision goes beyond simply generating revenue. We are driven by the belief that true success lies in creating a work culture where everyone—humans and non-humans alike—can thrive. Our mission is not just to deliver authentic, rare, and exquisite Pashmina masterpieces but also to build a business that is sustainable, profitable, and ethically grounded.
More Than Just a Business
Yes, the Pashmina industry thrives on exclusivity and authenticity. But for us, each product is more than a commodity—it is a reflection of values, compassion, and responsibility. While revenues are essential, we strive to ensure that the way we operate brings happiness to artisans, farmers, communities, and the environment.
We envision a future where values guide business, inspiring generations to create a world that is liveable for all sentient beings.
The True Source of Our Craft: Chyangras
Our ultimate source of inspiration and material is the Chyangra, a rare Himalayan goat whose soft undercoat produces the world’s finest Pashmina fibers. These animals are not just suppliers of wool—they are our non-human companions, cherished for their natural gifts and treated with respect and care.
Equally vital to our story are the farmers of the Himalayas—the guardians of these Chyangras. Resilient to harsh climates, they protect and nurture their herds with deep devotion. Their way of life and their bond with the Chyangras form the very backbone of XPashmina’s existence.
A Shift in Tradition
Not long ago, during our visits to the Himalayan villages, we witnessed a different reality. Farmers would often sell their Chyangras to markets in Kathmandu, Pokhara, or Butwal, especially during festivals like Dashain and Tihar. Many relied on these animals for dairy products like churpee or as a means of quick income.
But with XPashmina’s involvement, a shift began to take place. The farmers now view their Chyangras as more than livestock—they cherish them as family. This transformation has not only uplifted their livelihoods but also created a ripple effect of compassion and responsibility in the community.
Spreading Compassion Beyond Borders
As emotionally intelligent and sentient beings, we humans bear the responsibility to extend love, care, and compassion beyond ourselves. At XPashmina, we see our work as part of a greater purpose: ensuring that these values are preserved, shared, and spread across the globe.
Every Pashmina piece we create carries this message—a reminder that business can be ethical, sustainable, and empathetic at its very core. And perhaps, these simple yet powerful acts of compassion will stand among the greatest contributions we leave behind.
