About

The Beginning of XPashmina

It all started in mid-2012, when a heartbreaking report from Karnali revealed hundreds of women dying during pregnancy—many under the age of 15. The tragedy reminded me of losing my own mother to the same issue. That pain became the spark behind XPashmina’s mission—to protect, empower, and uplift women in remote Nepal.

Journey to Karnali

Determined to understand their struggle, I travelled to Limi, Humla for three months. The women there worked endlessly—inside homes and in the fields—yet suffered silently. Gaining their trust wasn’t easy, but their strength and resilience inspired me to create real, lasting change.

The Harsh Reality

Many outsiders had betrayed these families before—posing as helpers, only to exploit them. This made the locals cautious, but rightfully so. Their guarded hearts made me realize that trust must be earned through honesty, not promises. That realization became the foundation of XPashmina’s values.

The Leap of Faith

Back in the city, I quit my job, sold my scooter, and broke my fixed deposit to seed the project. Every rupee went back to Humla—to the families who trusted me. That moment marked the birth of a bond built on faith, love, and shared dreams.

Courage Met Opportunity

The Turning Point

With guidance from Mr. Janardan Sharma and District Head Mr. Jeevan Shahi, we organized health camps for pregnant women and mothers. Though the change was visible, I knew it was temporary. A deeper, sustainable solution was needed—something that could empower them even after I left.

Nature’s Answer

While living among them, I discovered nature’s hidden wealth—rare herbs and the local mountain goats called Chyangras. These resources held the potential to build a sustainable livelihood for the community. I promised to return with a model that would turn these gifts of nature into long-term empowerment.

Our Gurantee

The resilient women of the Himalayan regions of Nepal have been using Chyangra furs for centuries to produce handmade Radis, mufflers, and shawis. With a huge potential for the business to scale, these women wait for opportunities beyond the Himalayas and their stories to be heard. We at XPashmina have gathered such independent, strong, and skilled women who would handwoven these types of Luxury Products, their skills being inherited as a legacy from times unknown.

Through a local co-worker stationed at the Himalayan village, we at XPashmina make sure that these farmers are well paid based on their labor and hard work to help us accumulate the precious Chyangra furs.
